Doing Wall Sits Today
It all happened mighty fast.
We got pregnant in Europe in April
and by August we'd gotten married
found new jobs, sold our houses and
packed up all our stuff. I also turned 40
and, yes, I now must do novel stretches
and slow strength building exercises
for obscure muscle groups that wreak havoc
on the old body if neglected. I am still a bohemian
but a baby takes up a lot of spare time.
We have a rental house near Baldwin Vista
with a grand view of the whole sprawling waste.
It’s odd but I can't seem to turn away. You might
appreciate the neighbors' deranged conversations
with their schizoid hallucinations. Of course
one day we'll surely bring the family to NYC
or just tell us where your Subaru is parked
and we'll airdrop some crabcakes and narcotics
to get you through the cold mountain night.
Diatomaceous Earth
A pile of ash stood
bedside holding some
steel mesh after making
parts for planes and cars
all scrim of idea gone
capitalism zoomed
in our heads working
ways into heaven today
simple empty wastebaskets
not knowing all that
can be done will
now be undone
The Tallest Building in Albany
The tallest building in Albany is the Erastus
Corning Tower, a skyscraper completed in
1973 and sided with Pearl marble and glass.
Erastus Corning was an American businessman
and Democrat, notable for his service as
a mayor, senator and member of the House.
Erastus of Paneas held the political office
of chamberlain in Corinth according
to the Epistle to the Romans.
The Epistle to the Romans is the longest
of the thirteen Pauline epistles which scholars agree
was composed by Paul the Apostle to explain
salvation as offered through the gospel of Jesus.
Jesus was a first-century Jewish preacher.

crossing points of cosmological event horizons. Eventually
the light of which will shift more and more to the point
where those wavelengths become too large to detect
and sooner or later our galaxy will vanish completely.
Completely means in every way or as much as possible.
